Portugal
Portugal is one of Europe’s great surprises. It has a history that goes back more than 3,000 years to the time when Greek and Phoenician traders established settlements there. Today’s visitors will find spectacular castles, medieval villages, wonderful beaches and a lush landscape that includes a mountainous green interior and a sweeping coastline with wonderful beaches. Portugal is a land of fado, with excellent weather, fine food and wine, some of Europe’s finest cultural masterpieces, and passionate people who are proud of their Celtic and Moorish heritage.
